摘要:Higher Education Institutions (HEIs) are lagging behind in the adoption of Business Intelligence (BI). Although the level of Business Intelligence (BI) adoption is high in large organizations, the level of BI adoption in Higher Education Institutions (HEIs) is still low. There were limited studies that look at the impact of BI adoption in developing countries. This study examines how BI adoption impacts the performance of HEIs in Malaysia. This study applies resource-based theory to explore the relationship between BI adoption and performance. Data was collected through a web-form survey of 162 HEIs in Malaysia listed in the Malaysia Qualification Agency (MQA). Partial least square (PLS) structural equation modelling was used to analyse the data. The results showed that there is a significant impact on the performance of HEIs depending on their level of BI adoption. These research finding will hopefully help to encourage BI adoption among HEIs in Malaysia.
