摘要:Although the significant role of stakeholders in an organization and institutions are known, nonetheless there is limited literature about them in the shipping industry. This study therefore augments the scanty literature about their role in the maritime industry in a developing country. The United Theory of Acceptance and Use Technology (UTAUT) model 1 was adopted and modified to examine the role of stakeholders in using the Port Paperless System (PPS): a software designed to assists all players in the clearing chain in clearing goods from the ports in Ghana. Data were collected from 336 individuals through the use of a questionnaire and the data analyzed using the Partial Least Square (PLS) statistical tool. Performance expectancy (PE), Effort expectancy (EE), Facilitating conditions (FC) and Stakeholders trust (STR) were confirmed as significant factors in influencing intention to use PPS. Stakeholders knowledge (SK) and Stakeholders training (ST) did not significantly influence intention to use PPS. These findings confirm current research studies conducted at the ports of Ghana and some of the relationships in the UTAUT model and contributes to the growing literature on IS/IT acceptance within the context of an African country.
