摘要：In December 2014, Malaysia was shocked by the massive floods that affect physical destruction and also leaving flood victims with psychological problems. Based on previous research, resiliency is an element that can protect the flood victims from experiencing severe psychological issues. Therefore, the objective of this study was to explore the factors influencing resiliency among flood victims in Kelantan, Malaysia. To carry out this study, a qualitative approach using case study as a research design was employed. A total of 28 flood victims were selected for in-depth interview sessions. Respondents were selected by using purposive sampling. The data were collected and analysed using thematic analysis. The findings reported that there were four factors that influenced respondents’ resiliency, which emerged as themes namely self-efficiency, coping strategies, characteristics of community spirit and social support. The finding would provide information for relevant intervention programme which will lead to improve the physical and psychological well-being of flood victims in Malaysia.
