摘要:Studies related to academic performance are important to find methods to improve academic achievement at school or higher education. Although studies to examine the factors that contribute to academic performance are increasing, related literature shows that fewer studies have investigated the effects of lecturers' and students' organizational citizenship behavior (OCB) on academic performance as indicated by grade point average (GPA). This study aims to examine the extent to which self-efficacy, motivation, lecturers' OCB and students' OCB can contribute to the academic achievement of higher education students. This study is cross-sectional and descriptive in nature. The sample of this study consists of 312 undergraduates in one of the branches of public universities in the northern region of peninsular Malaysia. Respondents were selected using a convenience sampling method. Hierarchical multiple regression found that students' OCB, self-efficacy and intrinsic motivation had a significant positive relationship with GPA. However, lecturers' OCB was not a significant predictor of GPA. The findings of this study have the potential to be used in efforts to improve academic performance. It is suggested that future research should continue to explore the role of lecturers’ and students’ OCB in enhancing the academic performance.
