摘要：Research isone of the three institutional basic functions of the University, and as such, universities that do not consolidatetheir research processesdo not present a good projectionin the future. Asa multilevel organization, theUniversity must create and strengthenguidelines that transform it intoa strategic actor in competitive markets, which makesresearch a toolto meet the strategic objectives offunding and academic excellence.In Latin America, it is a priority todevelop in university students and professors the necessary abilities toenhance research skills.In this exploratory research, a mixed approachin order to investigatethe expectations and perceptions of the academic community at Corporación UniversitariaMinuto de Dios-SectionalBello (UNIMINUTO) with respect to the consolidation of research processesin the institution was applied.Findings prove that the most important situation to evaluate regarding the developedinvestigative processes inUNIMINUTO is therole being played by theoutreach activity of the Research System within the institution, as there is a general lack of students’ knowledge in this regard.Similarly, it was found that professors are familiar with research in their areas but unfamiliar, to some extent, withwhat happens in terms of research in other fields within the same institution.
