摘要：Childhood obesity is reaching global levels that represent a social concern. The aim of this study was to find the prevalence of overweight and obesity in children aged 3 to 6 years, and the possible influence of economic level, the parents’ education level and the number of siblings. For this, 189 children of these ages were weighed and measured and their respective mothers and fathers (N = 376) completed a sociodemographic questionnaire. The results show that 18.5% of children suffer excess weight, especially those of 4 years. The weight status was not significantly correlated with any variable analysed, although previous studies show the influence of socioeconomic level. It is concluded, on the one hand, the need for new studies that analyze these variables at an early age and, on the other, educational measures that help to curb the prevalence of overweight and obesity.
