  • 摘要:The increase in physical activity (PA) and the physical condition (PC) are associated with an improvement in health rates. The purpose of the present study is to measure the aerobic capacity of a group of ESO students in Seville and establish possible relationships according to the sex, the activity-inactivity and the participation in organised physical activity after school hours. Methods: 196 subjects were evaluated (13-17 years). The PAQ-A questionnaire was used to analyse the level of PA (establishing cut-off points of 2.7 and 2.9 points for girls and boys respectively), as well as a question related to extracurricular sports. The Course-Navette test was used to measure the physical condition, categorized in the 5 groups established according to the ALPHA-Fitness battery. Results: Only 1 in 10 subjects performed enough PA to consider them active. Nevertheless, 5 out of 10 subjects presented high values (category: high and very high) in the test of 20 meters round trip and, 3 out of 10 subjects had low values, finding that men present better aerobic capacity (almost 7 out of 10 men obtained high values). Conclusions: Results showed very few active subjects. Although there are no specific differences according to sex, it does exist around aerobic capacity, being greater in men. These results can be attributed to body size, to the lower body fat and therefore at the highest levels of hemoglobin, or the intensity of the practice of PA performed, compared to the volume; which makes it necessary to continue conducting studies in which other variables that can clarify the results are analysed.
