摘要:In this paper I examine two concepts created by prisoners in Brazilian jails during the last decades: “comportamento” and “proceder” (both can be translate as something close to behavior). These concepts generate moral evaluations in the Nietzschean sense of the term and create a common valuation background that connects prisons and streets. The main reference for this discussion is the book “Quatrocentos contra Um: uma história do Comando Vermelho” (“Four Hundred Against One: a history of the Red Command”) by William da Silva Lima, who recently passed away.
