摘要：The aim of this article is to understand the process of interdisciplinarity nowadays from a critical point of view. The process of disciplining the fields of human knowledge as we know it today is something recent in human history. But it has been intensifying over the past two centuries. The limitations in understanding the complexity of the world in isolated disciplines has been in the last decades the attempt to rescue the interdisciplinary perspective of human knowledge. However, we will try to understand this process from a materialist perspective, that is, analyzing the main aspects of the modern capitalist society evolution. It is only through the analysis of the relationship between knowledge and determined social relations that is possible to visualize the great picture of the tendency to discipline knowledge and the present return of interdisciplinarity.
