摘要:This study aimed to investigate the mediating role of the resilience of university students in the relationship between their life goals and hopelessness. The participants of the study consisted of a total of 455 students (252 female [55.4%], 203 male [44.6%]) from universities in six different provinces in Turkey. Data collection tools included, Scale of Setting Life Goals with Respect to Positive Psychotherapy (Eryılmaz, 2012), Resilience Scale (Gürgan, 2006), and Beck Hopelessness Scale (Beck et al., 1974). The data were analyzed using correlation analysis and structural equation modeling methods. As a result of the correlation analysis, it was found that hopelessness was negatively correlated with both life goals and resilience. In the mediation analysis, it was found that resilience had a full mediating role in the relationship between life goals and hopelessness. Increasing the life goals and resilience of university students will contribute to decreasing their hopelessness.
