摘要:Goals: Understand the importance of health education carried out by nurses on breastfeeding in rooming-in. Methodology: This is an integrative, qualitative and descriptive literature review, carried out in the Virtual Health Library (VHL) database in December 2020. The descriptors used were Health Education; Breastfeeding; Accommodation Set; Newborn. Inclusion criteria were: articles published in Portuguese and indexed in the last ten years. Exclusion criteria were: duplicated articles that deviate from the proposed theme. Four articles were integrated to compose the study. Results: The surveys were divided into two tables, containing the following information: title, authors, year of publication, journal, qualis, objectives, method, results, conclusion and level of evidence. With that, the analysis of the articles was carried out. Conclusions: The importance of health education for postpartum women and newborns can be noted and rooming-in is the environment that professionals, especially nurses, should put into practice the strategy to promote breastfeeding . Professionals should seek to improve themselves through professional qualifications and training for an adequate approach with a transmission of knowledge with quality and understand their duty and its importance in rooming-in.
