摘要:Objective: to describe the monitoring of COVID-19 cases in nursing workers and to raise hypotheses about the determinations of illness and death. Methodology: cross-sectional study conducted with secondary monitoring data via a remote questionnaire of suspected and/or confirmed cases of COVID-19 in nursing workers in Bahia. The sociodemographic, occupational and disease situation variables were analyzed descriptively. Qualitative data on sources of contamination were analyzed by the thematic-category content analysis technique. Results: of the 352 respondents, 50.9% were nursing technicians, 82.4% had a work relationship. 72.0% related coronavirus contamination to the work context. About one quarter reported comorbidities, with systemic arterial hypertension predominant. Conclusion: the contamination of nursing workers occurred primarily in the workplace. Working conditions stand out as producers of risks of illness by COVID-19. The unavailability of adequate personal protective equipment points to contamination in the work process.
