摘要:This paper aims to analyze the experiences lived by children in the city where they live, based on their impressions. It adopts the exploratory study as methodology, with semi-structured interviews, dialogue circles, field diary, photographic records and monitoring of tours as research instruments, as well as the observation of children in their moments of interactions, games and drawing production. This is a study carried out with seventeen children aged five years old enrolled in a Center for Early Childhood Education located at the Federal University of Espírito Santo, assuming them as co-participants in the production of data. The results indicate that, through different languages, children represent the city as the place where people live, work, study, walk around, socialize and play, in the company of their peers and other generational categories. Furthermore, when they talk about the places they frequent in the city, they claim improvements to public spaces, especially concerning parks and squares, and these are points that can be inviting for the cohabitation and meeting. It is concluded that the construction of a shared public space of plural coexistence presupposes thinking of a city that includes children and their childhoods.
