摘要:There are currently a number of therapies for the treatment of Autistic Spectrum Disorder (ASD) in the field of alternative complementary medicine (CAM), however their scientific validations are below expectations. Based on this reality, this article proposes to problematize the consistency of the association between the exclusion therapy of gluten and casein from the nutritional routine of the autistic person and the improvement of gastrointestinal symptoms and characteristic traits of autism, which constitutes the basis for this type of indication. approach to these individuals. It is visible throughout the debate of several authors that there is still no consistent evidence of the effectiveness of this relationship attributed to this nutritional approach, but that despite this there is a growing increase in positive reports by caregivers of individuals with ASD, which reinforce the need the scientific means of investigating more deeply and more attentively, in order to prove the validity or not of this Therapy.
