摘要:Adolescence is characterized by being an evolutionary phase in which the individual establishes his/her adult identity from internalizations and identifications that occurred in childhood, mainly in the relationship with his/her parents, but also taking into account the influences of the society in which he/she lives. Objective: to identify the sociocultural aspects of adolescents with physical disabilities. Method: Descriptive, exploratory research of a qualitative nature. Results: when analyzing the data, it was possible to verify that the adolescents reported the existence of prejudice in Brazilian society, in addition to the difficulty of relating to people of the same age group. Some adolescents believe that this discriminatory behavior is decreasing, but for these results to be evident, major social and political transformations are necessary. Conclusion: adolescents need comprehensive and humanized care so that they can deal with the limits and difficulties arising from physical disability and simultaneously develop all the possibilities and potentialities so that they can continue their lives with dignity.
