摘要:Objective: To investigate the prevalence of anxiety and depression and their associated factors in undergraduates. Method: Cross-sectional study, conducted during remote teaching, school year 2020, in the midst of the coronavirus pandemic, approved by the Research Ethics Committee, conducted in a Higher Education Institution in Aracaju, Sergipe, Brazil, which included 453 students in Nursing, Nutrition, Physiotherapy, Physical Education, Architecture and Law schools. The participants virtually accessed the Informed Consent Form, a sociodemographic questionnaire, and Beck's Anxiety and Depression Inventories. The analysis was descriptive and inferential, the chi-square and Fisher's exact test were applied, the prevalence ratio was calculated, and the significance level was 5%. Results: The prevalence of anxiety and depression was 58.28% and 58.50%, respectively. The factors associated with anxiety were course (p=0.000), age group (p=0.000), gender (p=0.005), employment relationship (p=0.001), having child (p=0.042) and insomnia (p=0.000) and those associated with depression were course (p=0.023) and having insomnia (p=0.000). Conclusion: Course and having insomnia were associated with anxiety and depression. The prevalence of anxiety occurred in lower numbers in physical education students and depression occurred in higher numbers in this group.
