  • 摘要:Hyaluronic acid (HA) may be na option for the treatment of lesions of diferente etiologies. Objective: to know the scientific evidence on the use of Hyaluronic Acid in wound healing. Methodology: this is a literature integrative review, performed in March 2021, in the VHL databases, such as SCIELO, LILACS and PUBLIC MEDLINE, using the PICO strategy, the P= Patients with wounds; I= Application of hyaluronic acid in wound; C= Sulfadiazine, and other healing products; O= Healing. The related inclusion criteria were: articles and theses published in full relevant to the topic in Portuguese, English or Spanish, publicly and online, published between the years 2011 to 2021. Results: No scientific evidence was found on the effectiveness of the isolated use of HA in the wound healing process, what has been produced in the literature are publications on its use associated with other dressings, such as silver sulfadiazine for the treatment of wounds such as burns, however, there was a lack of standardization regarding its clinical protocol for use. Conclusion: It is noteworthy that it is necessary to standardize the cinical use of HA for the treatment of injuries, and to conduct studies with high methodological rigor so that its effectiveness can be proven. It is important to emphasize that the use of Hyaluronic Acid 0.2% in cream, when associated with another coverage, did not presente any adverse effect or side effect in any of the evaluated studies.
