摘要:Systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE) is a chronic multisystem disease of complex etiology. Among the systemic features are: butterfly-shaped erythema over the nose and cheeks, hair loss, excessive fatigue and joint pain. In the oral cavity there are also manifestations and lesions in the mucosa, in addition to the possibility of developing burning mouth syndrome, hyposalivation, xerostomia, temporomandibular disorders (TMDs), desquamative gingivitis, periodontal disease (PD) and dysgeusia. The need to use drugs to alleviate the symptoms of the disease is inherent to most patients, and their use can lead to oral effects. The present study sought to relate the influence of the drugs used and the oral alterations of patients with SLE through an integrative literature review. For this, a literature search was carried out by a single researcher from November 2021 to February 2022; in PubMed, SciELO and Google Scholar databases, using the English terms:systemic lupus erythematosus, treatment of systemic lupus erythematosus, oral alterations of systemic lupus erythematosus, drugs used in the treatment of systemic lupus erythematosus adapted for each database. There was great diversity in the oral repercussions from the drugs used and the need to develop new drugs for the treatment of the disease.
