摘要：Introduction: However, high levels of anxiety in this period contribute to the increase in physical pain, as it can cause spasms and increased contraction of the pelvic and lumbar pelvic muscles. The use of non-pharmacological methods aims to relieve physiological stress and increase the degree of satisfaction of the parturient. Objective: To evaluate the use of non-pharmacological methods to control pain in labor Methodology: This is an integrative literature review carried out through the LILACS, BDENF and MEDLINE databases through the following DeCS: “Labor” and “Non-pharmacological methods”. Combined with each other by the Boolean AND operator. As inclusion criteria: articles available in full, in Portuguese, Spanish and English, that addressed the theme in the last five years. As exclusion criteria: articles that did not cover the topic and studies repeated in the databases. Results: We found 9 articles that demonstrated the effectiveness of non-pharmacological methods for pain control. Final Considerations: The use of non-pharmacological methods demonstrates equal efficacy to the pharmacological method for pain control.
