摘要：This work aims to understand the importance of preparing for the Mathematics Olympiads in elementary schools, as well as the benefits generated by teaching mathematics through problem solving techniques. To reinforce our theory about the preparation for the Olympics, we did a case study in a school in the metropolitan region of Belém do Pará and, also, the cataloging in dissertations with similar works, thus reinforcing the characteristics developed with the teaching focused on the preparation for the Olympics. the Mathematical Olympiads.
