摘要:Basketball (Basketball) is a well-known sport around the world, it was created in the United States in 1891 by the great James Naísmíth, arriving in Brazil in 1896. The request for physical, technical and tactical improvement, as a result of high performance sports training, is associated with various physical and biomechanical imbalances, such as muscle retractions, postural misalignments and injuries. Athletes are subject to injury at any stage of training or competition, where injuries become frequent. The objective of this study is to evaluate which types of injuries most affect basketball players, being evaluated all types of studies with amateur and professional athletes. A literature review is being carried out through scientific articles indexed in the databases, referring to the last twenty years (2001 to 2021), available on the websites SCIELO, GOOGLE ACADêMICO, PUBMED and SITE CONFEDRAO BRASILEIRA DE BASQUETEBOL. We conclude that it is an aggressive sport, that many injuries occur during training and championships, but with the performance of sports physiotherapy in prevention and rehabilitation, you can obtain a significant improvement or decrease in the risk of injuries.
