摘要：Conservation units are areas established by law, which ensure the protection of nature and conservation of its biodiversity. In order to contribute to scientific knowledge regarding protected areas, the research and analysis of this proposal listed the characteristics of socio-environmental aspects of the population of the municipality of Anapurus-MA, as well as their perspective in relation to the implementation of the Parque Natural do Riacho Estrela. The study was carried out in September 2020, with the application of a semi-structured questionnaire. The delimitation of the territory of the Environmental Protection Area (APA) occurred with the use of three cartographic bases, being the Brazilian Institute of Geography and Statistics (IBGE), the Directorate of Geographical Service of the Army (DSG) and data from the Mapbiomas platform, and with the aid of terrestrial control points. The results of the questionnaire indicate that 28.2% of respondents correspond to young people aged between 18 and 25 years and 60% are female. About 45% of respondents stated that the environment is just an ecological interaction of nature. With data on land use and cover, it was identified that there was a loss of approximately 11,700 m2 of green area in the years from 1995 to 2019. Corroborating the need to immediately create a management plan suitable for the APA, with community participation local. All this was possible with the use of free digital platforms, providing spatial and geographic information for the elaboration of analyses, especially for environmental monitoring.
