摘要：Childbirth is a physiological fact, since it constitutes the natural way of reproduction of the human species. The same marks the end of a pregnancy and a new remarkable experience for the woman. This study has the following objectives: To analyze the role of the obstetrician nurse in normal childbirth as well as the obstacles to its practice and to discuss the importance of the routine use of the partogram in the care of labor. This is a bibliographic review. It was observed that for an effective performance of the obstetric nurse it is necessary that these professionals are competent to do so, that is, they have knowledge, skills and attitudes, assume their attributions with autonomy, through a less interventionist assistance, including the use of the partogram.
