摘要:Disasters have a strong emotional, social, physiological, personal and environmental impact, leading victims to face, in a short time, a situation of loss, pain, trauma and fear, causing intense psychological suffering, which when not properly assisted by qualified professionals, it can have intensified consequences that last for several years. Objective: to know what are the contributions of psychology in situations of disasters, and the techniques used in the process of welcoming the suffering of victims in situations of emergencies and disasters. Method: this is a qualitative bibliographic research that is rationalized by means of an integrative review; the search was carried out in the Scientific Electronic Library Online- SciELO, Google Scholar and CAPES databases in March 2020, with the association of the descriptors psychologist performance, emergencies, disasters and Techniques. Results: six studies were selected and analyzed to help understand the contributions of psychology in the face of disasters. Two thematic categories emerged from the analysis: consequences of disasters and the psychologist's performance before, during and after disasters. The psychologist's performance in these situations can be directed to the victims and also to the active teams and also the selection of the techniques to be used in the process of victimization. In addition, the contributions of psychology can be in preventive actions in conjunction with other professionals. Conclusion: The importance of the professional psychologist's performance in these situations is identified, in addition to the need to continue research in this area.
