摘要:A peptic ulcer is an inflammatory lesion in the gastric mucosa. It is caused both by the imbalance between the factors that damage the mucosa and those that protect it, where those that damage stands out. Spondias mombin L. (Anacardiaceae), popularly known as cajazeiras, is used in folk medicine for the treatment of various diseases such as conjunctivitis, healing action, antidiarrheal, diuretic, among others. Some pharmacological activities have already been proven for the species, such as gastroprotective, anti-inflammatory, and antibacterial activities. The objective of this study was to compare the gastroprotective effect between the ethanol extract and the hexane extract of the residues of fruits of S. mombin L. For this, the residue of the fruits was obtained by donation of the association of rural producers of fruits of the boqueiro-Cajazeiras- PB Then the material was dried and crushed. The ethanolic and hexane extracts were obtained separately by maceration. The gastroprotective activity was performed in rats (n=5) by the method of inducing gastric injury with ethanol. The doses for the ethanol extract were 100 and 200 mg/kg and for the hexane extract, a dose of 100 mg/kg. Omeprazole (30 mg/kg) was used as a positive control and 0.9% NaCl was used as a negative control. The result obtained in this work showed a gastroprotective capacity of the hexane extract of cajá residues of 89.46% when compared to the control group. It can be concluded that the non-polar compounds were effective when compared to the polar compounds.
