摘要:The biodynamic preparation of root canals is extremely important in the success of endodontic treatment, since it promotes the enlargement of the canals as well as the removal of pulpal remains and bacterial cells. Since there is a large number of mechanized systems available on the market, the choice of which depends on the professional, the present study aimed to evaluate in vitro the cutting capacity, as well as cleaning and shaping, after the fourth use, of the file system. V-file compared to Reciproc Blue files, to find out which of the two systems has better cutting capacity. Seventy-two transparent blocks of simulated canals were randomly divided into 2 groups of reciprocating files (n = 36): group A: Reciproc Blue 25.08 and group B: V-File 25.08. The groups were subdivided according to the amount of use in order to verify the cutting capacity. The simulated canal blocks were photographed before and after instrumentation and the photographs were superimposed, making it possible to measure the wear along the canal. Although the differences were not considered statistically significant, as in previous uses, the Reciproc Blue files performed preparations with greater wear, thus having greater cutting capacity, while the V-File files performed more conservative preparations. Only in relation to the data of the total width of the canal, during the fourth use, the V-File files provided greater wear in the middle third of the canals. Both files maintained cutting efficiency even after the fourth use and therefore proved to be safe for use in curved canals.
