摘要:The venomous animals are those that have a structure capable of injecting the venom into some other animal that offers danger. In Brazil, the main animals that cause accidents are snakes, scorpions, spiders, lepidopteran larvae and some hymenoptera (bees, ants and wasps). Based on the fact that this is a case of Public Health, there are systems of notification of these accidents and data storage, one of them (TABNET-SINAN) was used in the present study, with the purpose of describing the epidemiology of accidents involving animals and the influence of associated climatic and seasonal factors. The data on accidents and the characteristics of the accident victims were collected for the years 2013 to 2017, in the city of Xanxerê (SC) and the climatic data were obtained through the CIRAM of the Chapecó Station, for the same period. The results showed that the majority of the victims are male, in the economically active age group, with elementary school and high school education. The biggest cause of accidents in the urban area were spiders. This work becomes relevant to the health scenario of the municipality and region, for future studies and for the general context of the subject addressed, serving as a tool for the academic community and object of knowledge of the population in general.
