摘要：This essay provides a critical reflection on the graphic novel. Addressing the pedagogical importance of the genre and it’s wider cultural influences, it also attends to the lessons learned from the production of the Portraits of Violence book. In doing so, it seeks to provide an introduction to the ways graphic novels can enhance critical understanding, especially when dealing with difficult problems such as violence.
