摘要:Corruption shows a serious challenge to development. In the world of politics, corruption complicates democracy and good governance by destroying the formal process. Corruption in elections and in the legislature reduces accountability and representation in policy making; corruption in the court system stops law order; and corruption in public government results in an imbalance in community service. In general, corruption erodes the institutional capacity of the government, due to the neglect of procedures, suctioning of resources, and officials appointed or elevated positions not because of achievement. At the same time, corruption complicates the legitimacy of government and democratic values such as trust and tolerance. It takes the existence of local wisdom and religious values to minimize corruption.
