摘要:This article explains the interaction between the local government of the city of Urbana (Illinois, USA), a community of Ward 3 of the city, and students of the graduate seminar on Community Data from the University of Illinois One of the purposes was to pursue alternatives for development and improvement in police service for socioeconomically vulnerable communities The project used a participatory Action-Research approach as a theoretical-methodological framework and Crime Prevention Through Environmental Design as a tool for analyzing the relations between the appropriation of public spaces and criminality The concept of Nepantla was explored to understand citizen research in this community The analysis used open government data and data visualizations, demonstrating the imbalance in the maintenance of construction, forms of communication networks, recognition of historical and cultural resources, and the commission of the crime in the Crystal Lake Townhome public housing area compared to other areas.
