摘要:This study aims to find out (1) the use of the debate method in improving the learning outcomes of students in class VI at SDN 116 Enrekang, (2) the activities of students in speaking using the debate method. This was classroom action research which was carried out in two actions (cycles). The process included planning, implementation, observation and reflection. The technique of collecting data is through performance tests, summation competency tests and integer reduction and observation. The results of the study proved to be significant (1) the use of the debate method to effectively improve the learning outcomes of class VI students at SDN 116 Enrekang.Increased learning outcomes are indicated by the average individual learning outcomes of 80.18 and classical learning completeness reaches 82.92%,(2) student activities during learning are more effective since action I to action II, where the average active time of students is 74, 16%, while the ineffective time is only 25.83% or an increase in student activity from the first cycle and the second cycle of 48.66%.
