摘要:The aim of the article is to analyze the trajectory of gas integration between Argentina and Bolivia during the period 1968–2019, identifying the categories that allow characterizing different stages along the relationship. The selected categories are: the prevailing regionalism, the predominant dimension of foreign policy, the type of relationship between the two countries, the degree of integration and the natural gas price. From these categories, five stages were delimited: geopolitics (1968–1982), democratic cooperation (1983–1988), market divergence (1989–1999), conditional cooperation (2004–2015) and political distancing (2016–2019). The research strategy is framed within a case study in order to investigate the tensions and conflicts that underlie long-term inter-state energy agreements. The collection and analysis techniques are framed in documentary research, through statistical series obtained from different sources, the bilateral agreements signed by the parties and the specific bibliography. In the conclusions, a conceptual matrix is presented that allows a comparison of the stages.
