摘要:The socio-spatial segregation of the Brazilian metropolises is historically characterized by the core-periphery model. Given the fact that there are segments of the popular classes residing in the central area of the metropolis, the question that we propose in this paper is: Do the popular classes that live there have different incomes compared to the popular classes that live in the metropolitan periphery? That is, living in the areas of the metropolis where there are better urban material conditions and where the upper class is concentrated, offers more social advantages than living in the metropolitan periphery? The results of our investigation show that although we consider only the popular class, the territory has an explanatory effect on income inequalities in the labor market.
