摘要:AbstractPacked U-Cell converter has become a promising topology among the multilevel converters for many industrial applications due to the different advantages that it offers. It utilizes fewer components while achieving the maximum voltage levels with higher reliability. In this paper, we focus on the control problem of a single-phase Pucked U Cell Inverter (PUC). The main objective is two folds: i) generate, at the system output, a sinusoidal voltage with a low THD value; ii) regulate the upper flying capacitor voltage to the desired value. The considered problem is dealt with using a PI controller, which is designed to fix the capacitor voltage in the PUC structure at the desired value to have the seven levels of the voltages at the output. The 7-level pulse width modulation (PWM) technique is used to produce the associated pulses for firing the PUC switches. The performance of the modulation is verified through numerical simulations with the Matlab/Simulink/SimpowerSystems environment, where the theoretical study results are verified.
