摘要：This article explores contemporary hunting in Italy and the meanings associated with this practice among hunters in southern Piedmont. Based on case-study research, the article analyzes the value system of the hunters and highlights competition between different ways of understanding the hunting practice. The hunter is understood at the same time as a user of the environment and its keeper. Considering the current debate and legal framework concerning hunting this article suggests a possible path may be identified for the re-interpretation and revival of the hunting practice in the contemporary context.
