摘要：Dental caries or cavities, more common in children aged 6 to 11 years and adolescents aged 12 to 19 years.Fluoride application which helps in prevention of dental caries.Fluoride is available from many sources. It has prolonged therapeutic effect, and can be applied by both dental and non dental health professionals in a variety of settings. Materials and methods:The retrospective study was done using DIAS software of saveetha dental college.The study was done with patients who visited Saveetha dental college for preventive treatment of dental caries by fluoride application. Result: The result shows that the age group between 5-10 mostly fluoride application treatment is done. Application of topical fluoride varnish is more common in age groups above 15. 32% topical fluoride APF gel treatment is done in male and females 18%. 25% topical fluoride varnish treatment is done in male and in females 18%. Conclusion:Preventive treatments have an impact on avoiding the development of caries. On the basis of this study, a greater diffusion of preventive interventions could reduce the incidence of caries at an affordable cost. Topical application of fluoride gel and fluoride supplements appear as convenient and inexpensive tools to reduce dental caries.
