摘要:Adolescence is the crucial transition stage between childhood and adulthood. It can be both an enjoyable and a challenging period. These changes can bring about new emotions, perspectives, and sense of self as a young adult begins to create a new outlook on the world . As obstacles and hardships are encountered, it becomes absolutely necessary for adolescents toregulate, modify, or change their emotions that are generated by these events and to develop self-esteem. These aspects are critical for promotion of social and emotional health among adolescents (Morris et al., 2017).The purpose of the study was to examine the relationship between home environment, emotional regulationand self-esteem of adolescents. Methods: The participants were 357 adolescents with age ranging from 13 to 18 years. Home Environment Scaleby Akhter and Saxena (2013), Difficulties in Emotion Regulation Scale by Gratz and Roemer(2004) and Self-esteem scale by Rosenberg (1965) were used to measure the home environment, Emotional regulation and self-esteem in adolescents. Result: Results indicated that the correlation value of home environment and self-esteem was found to be 0.580. The correlation value ofdifficulties in emotional regulation and self-esteem was found to be -0.650. Conclusion: Significant positive relationship was found between home environment and self-esteem. Home environment showed significant relationship with emotion regulation, which is further related with self-esteem. The mediation analysis has shown that emotional regulation partially mediates the relationship between home environment and self-esteem among adolescents.
