摘要：Dental caries is defined as the localised or complete destruction of susceptible dental hard tissues by acidic byproducts in the oral cavity from bacterial fermentation of different dietary carbohydrates. Dental decay is the damage which occurs to the tooth surfaces. It is defined as the localised or complete destruction of susceptible dental hard tissues by acid by-products in the oral cavity from bacterial fermentation of various dietary products. Bruxisms are defined as involuntary, excessive grinding, clenching or rubbing of teeth duringnonfunctional movements of the masticatory system which occurs in the oral cavity. Due to this invariable habit of grinding of teeth, dental caries gradually start developing due to attrition of the occlusal surface, thereby involving the enamel, dentine and pulp. The aim of the study is to assess the association of dental caries by the influence of bruxism habit in the age group of 7-12 years. It is a single centered retrospective study conducted in a private dental institution, Chennai. The data collected was from the dental hospital management system. 5,000 patient details were analysed who fulfilled the inclusion and exclusion criteria were included in the study. The data collected was tabulated under following parameters: Age, gender, habit, caries and bruxism. `.
