摘要：Marriage is considered as one of the most significant social institutions through which society preserves as it is a means of establishing family relations. Being a country with a variety of traditions and customs being followed in various families, gender - based issues faced by people in the community are often many. It is noted that it is often the weaker section of the society, the women, who are victimized. Early marriage is a hurtful practice that rejects girls their right to make important decisions about their sexual health and well-being. It forces them out of education and into a life of poor prospects, with an increased risk of violence, abuse, unpleasant health or early death. The major reason for early marriage were found to be lack of access to education, economic openings and health amenities, particularly for girls, alongside severe poverty and weak legal and enforcement mechanism. Early marriage is one amongst the various problems faced by women. The study focuses on the issues faced by girls who get married young.
