摘要：Prevention of disease is one of the most essential and affordable means to health promotion. Oral health also touches every aspect of life but is often unestimated. Over the past few decades, in India, when compared to health, oral health is seeking priority, but still remains a burden. Miserably, these diseases affect children, adults, and families across the world every day, although they are completely preventable.One of the most common pandemic diseases that affect mankind is dental caries. Materials and Methods The present study was survey based and conducted online among dental students. The questionnaire was framed to evaluate the knowledge of dental students about preventive dental care. The data collected through the survey was analysed using SPSS and presented as descriptive statistics. Results The knowledge about preventive dentistry was relatively adequate among interns. It was also found the majority of the students around had sufficient awareness of fluoridated toothpastes. Conclusion The study concluded that need and scope of preventive dentistry in regular dental practice should be instilled in the minds of aspiring dental graduates.
