摘要:Background:Health literacy is a precursor to health and considered a social determinant of health due to its influence upon health outcomes, therefore health literacy among the clinical assistants plays a major role in a successful treatment outcome. The aim of the study was to assess the knowledge, attitude, and practices by measuring the dental health literacy by REALD- 30 for clinical assistants in university settings. Materials and methods: All the clinic assistants working in university clinics were involved in this online survey. Responses from 73% of the participants were collected. The questionnaire consisting of fifteen questions was posted for an online survey using google forms. The validity of the questionnaire was cross-verified . The extracted data were tabulated in MS Excel sheets and were subjected to statistical analysis using SPSS software. Results: From the above conducted study we observe that 67% of the respondents were of the age group 25-30 years of age, 15% of the respondents were of the age group 20-25 years of age, 18% of the respondents were of the age group 30-35 years of age. It was found that the majority of the participants were aware of the words in REALD- 30. Conclusion: From the collected data we see that most of the clinical assistants are familiar with almost all the words of REALD 30 but there was a difficulty in the pronunciation of the words.
