摘要:Paramolars are usually uncommon supernumerary anomalies most commonly located between second and third molars on buccal aspect or lingual aspect and are rarely seen between first and second molars. Reports of this existence are rarely found in the dental literature. The aim of this study is to determine and evaluate the incidence of paramolars of an outpatient population in a dental college of chennai. Materials and methods: The study was conducted among the outpatients visiting a private dental hospital. The data was reviewed and analysed from the total number of patients between June 27, 2020 to January 1, 2020. Descriptive statistics was performed for the obtained results. Results and discussion: Association between gender and incidence of paramolars in different age groups depicts that female patients have lesser incidence of paramolars when compared to males and highest incidence of paramolars is between the age group 11-20. Conclusion: A clinician should perform required investigations when these conditions are suspected in patients and upon diagnosis each case should be managed in order to minimise complications such as delayed eruption and malocclusion.
