摘要：Aims: The goal of this research is to see if there is a link between self-esteem and depression among the elderly. Study Design: Descriptive design is used for this study. Place And Duration Of Study: The study was conducted at selected old age homes, Kancheepuram District, between August 2014 and September 2014. Methodology: Sample included 62 elderly (22 men, 40 women; age range 60-75 years) . Results: The results show a strong in the elderly, there is a negative association between self-esteem and depression, which is highly significant at the P 0.01 level. Conclusion: As one's self-esteem grows, so does depression. As a result, to avoid depression, older people should have higher self-esteem.
