摘要:Educational aspiration is an important variable in predicting achievement and may be viewed as an element in academic achievement motivation, focusing on the strong desire for success and the development of goals to succeed in specific educational areas or to achieve a specific grade. There are various theoretical perspectives on explaining educational aspiration and its implications for future behaviour. The sociological theory of status attainment known as the Dominant Model emphasized aspiration as a cognitive state that motivates or drives adolescents to strive for academic success. The model acknowledges that both the personal dimension (e.g., the influence of others or students' perceptions of their own personal attributes) and the social dimension are important transferring factors. Parents, in particular, have been identified as being the most influential in shaping aspirations because they provide opportunities, encouragement, and support for their children's learning.
