摘要：National Eligibility cum Entrance test was introduced so as to ensure fair availability of seat for aspiring medical professionals, the objective of this study was to analyse whether medical professionals agreed to the fact that NEET truly is an eligible criterion to decide whether a student is proficient enough for the course or not . Questionnaire was answered by 76 government medical professionals. The survey was circulated among professionals mostly answered by interns. The answers were analysed and the result was produced. A total of 12 questions were present in the questionnaire. MATERIALS AND METHODS: From the survey conducted regarding the benefaction of NEET, when asked if NEET is good for India around 61.84% answered yes but 38.16% said no. When asked if the difficulty level of NEET conducted is high 53.9 % answered yes . The results from the chi- square test showed that participants who thought that there was a statistical significance in the response of the participants to the question whether NEET was good for India and if the standard of medical education has improved because of NEET (Figure 6). There was no statistical significance in the response to whether medical aspirants from the middle and lower class were affected in a bad way as the conduction of NEET and whether NEET in its present for was fair (Figure 7). Around 65.7% of the people who took the survey responded by saying that the conduction of NEET is preferred by them. The reason they preferred NEET was that it is a very fair way for admission of students into the medical profession. Whereas 34 %of the people who took the survey responded by saying that the conduction of NEET is not preferred by them , the reason being that the NEET being conducted in the present format is not fair and the form has to be reformed to be conducted in a fair manner. CONCLUSION: The above study concluded that NEET is a proper method that can be used for the admission of students into the medical profession, but the present form of NEET is not the right way to do so and certain reforms have to be brought about for its betterment.
