  • 摘要:The psychological factors, such as Anxiety plays a very important role in improving sports performance. Anxiety is a feeling of nervousness, fear, worry, or worry that may occur without a cause or it may occur based on a real situation. Sports psychologists may help sports players get their anxiety under control and reduce their game-day nervousness. Therefore, the present study was conducted to find out the sports competition anxiety between taekwondo and judo players in Manipur. Method:The data pertaining to this study was collected from the Regular Coaching Centre (RCC) and Sports Authority of India (SAI), KhumanLampak main stadium, Imphal, Manipur. For this study, 19 male Taekwondo and Judo players who participated in the national level were selected as subjects. A random sampling technique was used to select the subjects. For this study, the Sports Competition Anxiety Test (SCAT) by Martens (1977) questionnaire was used to measure sports competition anxiety. The questionnaire consists of 15 statements, 10 of which measure symptoms associated with anxiety, with five others that are not scored to reduce the likelihood of an internal response-set bias. The scores for the 10 statements are summed up to provide an overall measure, with a high score reflecting a greater tendency to experience competitive anxiety. A score of less than 17 indicates a low level of anxiety, 17 to 24 an average level of anxiety, and more than 24 a high level of anxiety. The subjects were asked to respond to the statement with any one of three heads, i.e., rarely, sometimes, and often. Result:To analyse the data, descriptive statistics (mean and standard deviation) were used. The level of significance is accepted as 0.05. The mean value of taekwondo players is 22.1053 and the mean value of judo players is 17.3158. After analysis, the data "t" value is 7.005* at the 0.05 level of significance. Hence, there was a significant difference between taekwondo and Judo players.
