摘要：The undertaken work has been taken with an aim to estimate the position of women in Shakespeare’s Twelfth Night (1600) with a western background and Kalidasa’s Abhijnana Shakuntalam (composed in the span of 3rd to 4th century AD) mirroring an ancient monarchical Indian social context along with an ecofeminist approach. The study of both masterpieces has given emphasis to the temperament, characteristics, duties and role of nature and woman and also shows how they both phenomenally and philosophically resemble each other.
