摘要:Introduction Impulse control disorder is a separate division of psychiatric disorders and it is characterised by impulsivity that occurs due to the failure to resist the temptation or impulse inorder to perform an harmful act, an inclination and having fear to speak about their ideas to others. Materials and method Self administered questionnaire of close-ended questions was prepared and it was distributed among dental students from February to April 2021 through the online survey “google forms” with 100 participants. The collected data were checked regularly for clarity, competence, consistency, accuracy and validity. Demographic details were also included in the questionnaire. The main aim of the study is to know that the dental undergraduates are aware of the impulse control disorder. Results 43% think kleptomania is the most severe impulse control disorder, 16% think intermittent explosive disorder, 25% think pyromania and 16% think pathological gambling. 74% were aware of the impulse control disorder and 26% were not aware about the impulse control disorder. Conclusion From the survey, it was evident that the majority were aware of impulse control disorder. A common psychiatric condition is ICD that typically results in impairment in the social and occupational functioning of an individual and they may be subjected to legal and financial difficulties too.
