  • 摘要:Surface porosities in addition to solubility are two undesired properties of PMMA that considerably weaken a denture base plus encourage discoloration, the growth of organisms for instance Candida Albicans, along with bond failures amid the artificial tooth in addition to denture base resin. To evaluate as well as compare porosities along with solubility amid thermoplastic flexible along with conventional heat cured acrylic resin denture base material. Materials and Methods: A total of 40 thermoplastic and heat-cured resin disc samples were manufactured, separated into two groups (group I flexible polyamide resin and group II heat-cured resin), and then dispersed for solubility along with porosity testing. Solubility was determined by recording the desorption of water-absorbent samples after four weeks, and then weighing them weekly for the next six weeks. The entire pore volume was used to calculate porosity (W0). The samples were weighed using an electronic analytical balance. The information was gathered and analysed statistically using the ANOVA test. The two groups were compared using a paired sample t-test along with an independent t-test with a significance threshold of 0.05. Results: The difference in solubility between the flexible and conventional groups did not reach statistical significance over time. When comparing flexible vs. traditional solubility, it was shown to be statistically non-significant throughout the storage period. For both the flexible and conventional groups, the change in porosity over time was statistically significant. Conclusion: More porosity in the flexible (thermoplastic polyamide nylon) resin would help maintain cleanliness in the long run. Patients who need tooth replacement in the cosmetic zone, severe soft as well as hard tissue undercuts, or allergies to acrylic or metal may benefit from flexible denture bases.
