摘要:Assorted investigations are going on by retelling the Indian myth with the eyes of Indians and not western which is giving it an occidental view. In the similar context Dev Dutt Pattnaik’s Dev Lok and his literal journey paves a new paradigm shift in the Indian mythology. His work Indian Mythology: Tales, Symbols, and Rituals from the heart of the Subcontinent gives a detailed analysis of the western eye.Devdutt Pattnaik graduated in medicine and is currently an author, Indian mythologist, and a versatile speaker of Indian mythology. He was the speaker of the first TED conference in India in the year 2009. Authoring more than a dozen bestselling books on mythology and management he is a leading columnist for business newspapers like Economic times and one of the most famous motivational speakers of the nation. The writings of Devdutt Pattnaik triggers the reader to re-think of our mythology detailed by our colonizers. Making it free from the post-colonial influence rather bringing it in front with a new paradigm- the Indian paradigm. It is indeed a matter of exemption that all this is coming out of a person who has a solid science education and degree, a physician. Medical science totally disagrees with the concept of mythology therefore it is always interesting to hear an MBBS holder defending Indian myths and beliefs. Not only this he even reached the extent of retelling it with a shift from western paradigm. The paper attempts to highlight his ideas latent in his work “Indian Mythology.
